State Research Center – Burnazyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of FMBA of Russia took part in the design approval of the draft Roadmap for the activating Russian-Japanese trade and investment cooperation

On the 30th of November 2020 a work meeting was held. It was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation. The meeting was held between the Russian Federation and Japan to discuss the draft Road map to the development of Russian-Japanese trade and investment cooperation, in the section on medicine. The meeting was arranged in the format of a teleconference.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, Rospotrebnadzor, FMBA of Russia and organizations under the Agency's jurisdiction: SRC – FMBC, Ural Scientific and Practical Center of Radiation Medicine, Federal Siberian Research Clinical Center of FMBA of Russia and Federal Publicly Funded Institution of Science Institute of Toxicology of FMBA of Russia took part in a video conference with Japanese colleagues.

The Japanese side was represented by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance and the Japan Bank of the international cooperation.

SRC – FMBC proposed to include two projects to the Roadmap: «Radiation inactivation of COVID-19 using ionizing radiation» and «Identification and validation of genetic markers of individual radiosensitivity, as well as the creation and subsequent commercialization of a test system for determining individual radiosensitivity». During the discussion, the Japanese colleagues asked for more detailed and specific information for substantive consideration by specialists.

The center intends to develop a bilateral cooperation in the field of radiation safety and strengthen the global coordination in the fight against the pandemic.
