The Clinic of SRC-FMBC is a multi-profile hospital equipped in accordance with the highest world standards. Our priority areas are oncology, hematology, organ and tissue transplantation, reconstructive plastic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation.

Clinic of SRC-FMBC is equipped with the most up-to-date innovative medical equipment, which allows annually to provide specialized including high-tech medical care for about 15 thousand patients. 250 clinicians and more than 80 scientific workers of the highest qualification, including 28 doctors of medical sciences, 75 candidates of medical sciences, 130 doctors of the highest qualification category work in the Clinic for 450 beds.

The Clinic is actively introducing methods of diagnosis and treatment, developed by scientific units. Experimentally, the clinic demonstrated the possibility of using mesenchymal stem cells in radiation injuries, which provided a basis for introducing a new medical technology for the treatment of radiation burns in clinical practice. The Center for Surgery and Transplantology of the Clinic conducts the most complex surgical interventions using unique authors’ techniques on the organs of the abdominal cavity and small pelvis, liver transplantation. Reconstructive plastic surgery is widely represented, including in such areas as urology, maxillofacial surgery, gynecology. Minimally invasive surgery is actively developing, including in cancer.

The main clinical areas of its work are:


Oncology.

The Cancer Center of the Clinic is the only one in the system of the FMBA of Russia providing a full range of medical care to patients with cancer, including most complex reconstructive plastic and organ saving surgery, all types of radiation therapy (including brachytherapy, radiosurgery using the CyberKnife beam installation, and oncochemotherapy). The department of oncohematology is one of the most advanced in Russia and the only one in the system of the Federal Medical Biological Agency. It was here in 1974 the first allogeneic bone marrow transplantation was performed in the country. The department is equipped in accordance with world standards and annually performs up to 50 bone marrow transplantations, including allogeneic related transplantations.

Surgery and transplantology.

Specialists of the Center for Surgery and Transplantation develop and implement unique innovators’ techniques during surgery on abdominal organs and pelvis; perform cadaveric and related (from a living related donor) transplants of liver, kidneys, pancreatic cells. In 2016, the Center experts received the Calling award for participation in Russia’s first allogeneic transplant face tissues. Plastic reconstructive surgery is widely represented, including in such areas as urology, maxillofacial surgery and gynecology. Minimally invasive surgery is actively developing, including in cancer diseases.

Neurology, neurosurgery and neuroreanimation.

Since 2008, the Federal Neurological Center of Extrapyramidal Diseases and Mental Health has been operating on the FMBC basis using the latest methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients. SRC-FMBC is the educational base for more than 20 subjects of the Russian Federation for training specialists of specialized vascular centers created within the framework of the National Project "Health";

Sports medicine and rehabilitation.

The Center conducts monitoring of the health of athletes of Russian national teams and the nearest reserve. More than a thousand and a half athletes annually have extended medical examinations using FMBC facilities. Highly specialized medical care is provided to them in case of the development of acute diseases and sports injuries.

Therapy.

The therapeutic direction of the Clinic includes specialized cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, endocrinology, neurological, and palliative care for patients. The schemes of oncological and cardiological screening have been developed and implemented. Correction and treatment of rhythm disorders and severe arterial hypertension, planned and urgent coronary angiography are carried out. The Center for Occupational Pathology has accumulated big experience in the treatment of patients with lung diseases, actively uses the method of body plethysmography, which allows to fully study the functional features of the patient's lungs for more accurate diagnosis and qualitative selection of therapy for major lung diseases. Patients of the gastroenterological profile receive the full range of qualified diagnostic and therapeutic care using endoscopic techniques (including under anesthesia). The staff of the Therapy Department of the Institute of Continuing Vocational Education of the FMBA of Russia takes an active part in treatment of patients of the therapeutic profile.

Biomedical technology.

The use of cellular technologies developed by the Biomedical Technology Center for treating acute radiation injuries and thermal burns enables the preservation of the lives of those patients whose cases were previously thought to be hopeless. ECMO.

ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). In 2016 the ECMO Center for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was opened in State Research Center − Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of the FMBA of Russia. This method is a major measure of resuscitation used in patients with respiratory distress syndrome who are in a terminal condition. The methodology implementation and the installation of ultra-modern ECMO equipment helped dramatically reduce mortality in patients with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). Today, facilities of the Institute of Continuing Vocational Education are used by the Center employees to teach ECMO to specialists from all over Russia and the CIS countries.

Rapid Response Team.

The Rapid Response Team (RRT) of the Extreme Medicine Center allows doctors to provide assistance on the ground where it is most needed at the moment. The RRT has a certified sanitary plane unique in Russia with two intensive care units on board. The mobile transport hospital includes unparalleled certified mobile reanimation units for 4 patients, mobile surgical theaters where complex surgical interventions are performed on-site of the deployment. There are also vehicles equipped with computer tomography, X-ray and ultrasound expert class equipment. Employees of the Center have been involved in the health care and medical evacuation of more than 15,000 patients, both in Russia and abroad. The medical team of the Clinic has actively participated in health care and transportation of the wounded during the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict and its aftermath, the man-made disaster at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power plant and the Raspadskaya mine, in the crash of the Nevsky Express train, and during the fire in the Khromaya Loshad Club in Perm. The mobile transport hospital was deployed in the city of Krymsk, Krasnodar Territory, for emergency treatment and vaccination of the population affected by the flood in 2012.
